MO Local Obituaries for the Week of Dec. 18, 2002 Francis Merritt Nixon Francis Merritt Nixon of Cuba, Mo. was born on August 26, 1918 in St. Louis, Mo. to the union of William Nixon and Nelie A. (Cook) Nixon and passed away at his home in Cuba, Mo. on December 12, 2002 at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 16 days. In 1941 Francis was united in marriage to Florence Mae Jenkerson at Union, Mo. One son, Terry, and two daughters, Julie and Linda, were born to this union. Francis and Florence have been happily married for 61 years. Francis was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers and two sisters, Annie Nixon, Martin Nixon, Alice Jennings, Norman Nixon and Sherman Nixon. He was an avid sportsman enjoying coon hunting and bass fishing. Francis was also a competitive athlete playing softball with a Leasburg team and had a great love of golfing. Francis worked for the Robert-Judson Lumber Company for over 50 years specializing in cabinetry. Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his loving wife Florence Nixon; one son Terry Nixon; two daughters Julie Nixon and Linda Isaacs and husband Tom; dear brother-in-law of Bernice Nixon, Marie Nixon, Frances and John Prince and Helen Peterson; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. Francis was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Francis Merritt Nixon was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo. where funeral services were held on Sunday, December 15, 2002 at 2 p.m. Gary Mace officiating. Interment was in the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Mo. All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo. Michael Wayne Studdard Michael Wayne Studdard of Sullivan, Mo. was born on August 3, 1984 at Rolla, Mo. to the union of Jack W. Studdard and Norma Pitts Studdard and passed away suddenly on December 8, 2002 at the age of 18 years, 4 months and 5 days. He was preceded in death by one son, Dakota Michael. Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his loving parents Jack W. and Norma Studdard; grandmother Mary Pitts; fiancé Mary Mesey; one brother Johnny Patterson; two sisters, Heather Brooks and husband Bobby, Jr. and Crystal Enke and husband Ray; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relative and many friends. Michael was a loving son, brother, fiancé, nephew, uncle, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Michael Wayne Studdard was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo. where funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Norman Heironimus officiating. Interment was in the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Mo.
