Brackman of Berryman, Missouri was born on Monday, March 4, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri to Roy and Genevieve Adderly Brackman and passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 9 days. John married Judy Searcy on September 1, 1962 in Kirkwood, Missouri and to this union two children were born. He served our country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and advanced to Major rank. After his discharge from the Air Force he resided in Webster Groves, Missouri for three years before moving to New Haven, Missouri in 1972. He was a member of United Church of Christ in New Haven, Missouri. He was an Eagle Scout and was a leader in both the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. He was a member of the Military Officers Association of America, the American Legion, the Missouri Bar Association and the Lions Club. He served as Circuit Judge in Missouri's 20th Judicial Circuit Court and Magistrate Judge of Crawford County. He enjoyed camping, canoeing and spending time at their Berryman cabin that was eventually remodeled and in 2001 became their home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Genevieve Brackman; and parents-in-law, H.B. and Laura Hart. He is survived by his wife, Judy Brackman of Berryman, Missouri; daughter, Rebecca Brackmann (Craig Steffen) of Middlesboro, Kentucky; son, Daniel Brackmann (Cinda Leech) of Houston, Texas; brother, William (Linda) Brackman of Denham Springs, Louisiana; brother-in-law, Jim (Kora) Searcy of Havana, Illinois; granddaughter, Clarisse Leech of Fulton, Missouri; other relatives and friends. A memorial service was at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Dale Staggemeier officiating. The family chose cremation as the final disposition. Arrangements under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Dorothy "Do" Jean Rose Heitholt Dorothy "Do" Jean Rose Heitholt was born in Barry, Illinois on April 29, 1933 and passed away December 17, 2015 at the age of 82 years. Dorothy was in the charter graduating class at University of Missouri, St. Louis (BS, Political Science), earned a second BS in Accounting from Maryville College in St. Louis, Missouri. She also earned her MBA from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri. She taught elementary grades in the Parkway School System in Chesterfield, Missouri and later worked for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals in St. Louis, Missouri and Angleton, Texas and at Keystone Valve Company in Houston, Texas. She finished her work (career) at Wallis Oil Company in Cuba, Missouri where she retired in 2007. Dorothy and Bill moved to the Commerce, Texas area to be near their son Jim and his wife Debby. Dorothy was a member of First United Methodist Church in Commerce, Texas. She was preceded in death by her son, Kent William Heitholt on November 1, 2001; and her parents, Jim and Dorothy Rose. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bill Heitholt; son, Jim and wife Debby Ohsiek Heitholt; grandchildren, Vincent and Kali Heitholt, Jason Schmidlen and Nikki Clay; twin great grandchildren, Makayla and Makenzie Schmidlen; two sisters, Majorie Hageman and Ruth Lohr; other relatives and friends. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in early 2016. Dixie Ann Ragan Dixie Ann Ragan of Kingsport, Tennessee was born in Saybrook, Illinois and passed away Monday, December 14, 2015 at the age of 81 years. She had lived in Kingsport for the past two years. She was a retired waitress and loved arts and crafts. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church of Coats, North Carolina and Alcoholics Anonymous for over 40 years and she had numerous spouses. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Ragan; and son, Darren Ragan. She is survived by her children, Bob Ragan and wife Larissa of Tennessee, Kevin Ragan and wife Christine of Texas and Kim Ragan-Woolf and husband, Charlie of Georgia (formerly of St. Louis, Missouri); grandchildren, Christine, Kerina, Kevin, Kendall, Kristen, Mandy, Kate, Jessica, Jason, Jennifer, Jonah, Darren and Shaun; 24 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Askins; brother, Mac Means; other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at the Sellers Cemetery in Dillard, Missouri. Arrangements under the direction of the Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Kingsport, Tennessee. Johnny Simpson Jr. Johnny Simpson Jr. of Cuba, Missouri was born August 26, 1944, in Salem, Missouri to John and Lillie (Oxendine) Simpson Sr. and passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the age of 71 years. John attended school in Cherryville, Missouri. On September 1, 1962 he was united in marriage to his former wife, Elizabeth Quinton. Johnny worked as a contractor and for several area law enforcement agencies as a police officer. Johnny enjoyed restoring old cars, playing the guitar, drawing, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Lillie Simpson; two daughters, Lisa and Cindy Simpson; three brothers, Dale, Joseph and Dennis Simpson; one sister, Ruby Christensen; grandson, Jacob Ware and four brothers-in-law, Kenneth Quinton, Robert Quinton, Donald Pasch and Everett Setzer. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; three daughters, Sharon Ransom and her husband J.T. of Steelville, Missouri, Sheila Moehlenbrock and her husband Chuck of St. Louis, Missouri and Sandra Ware and her husband Scot of Cuba, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Sterling of Steelville, Missouri and Ruth Hill and her husband Elgie of Cuba, Missouri; a special friend, Martha Ray of Cuba, Missouri; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Cuba Christian Church in Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Joshua Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Trask Cemetery in Cherryville, Missouri. Cremation services under the direction of Rolla Cremation and Memorial.
