MO Local Obituaries for the Week of December 28, 2000 Julia Jean Ives Julia Jean Ives (nee Lamb) was born Thursday, July 28, 1921, at Cardwell, Missouri, a daughter of the late William B. Lamb and Ella Mae Lamb (nee Jones). She entered eternal rest Thursday, November 23, 2000, at her home in Cuba, Missouri, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 25 days. On February 14, 1942, at Steelville, Missouri, Judy (as she was known by everyone) was united in marriage by Rev. Sam Roper, to Lester Thurston Ives. Two sons were born to this union. Lester preceded her in death as did one son David Lynn Ives. She was a charter member of Meramec Extension Club, Steelville, Missouri. She worked in medical records for a number of years at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Missouri, and recently worked with Senior Companions at the St. James Nursing Home. Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her son, Lester (Sonny) Ives of Newton, Mississippi; her sister Billie and husband Larry Laney of Steelville, Missouri. Five grandchildren, Shannon Ives, Erin Ives, and Amy Oetjen, all of the St. Louis, Missouri area; Hunter Ives and Julia Ives of Newton, Mississippi. Two nieces, Lesley and husband Jim White, and Lisa and husband Bill Pope all of Rolla, Missouri; one great grandson, Garrett Ives; great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2000, at the First Baptist Church, Steelville, Missouri, with Dr. Cardis Bryan officiating. Musical selections were provided by pianist Jan Wiesel and vocalist Jim and Georgia Beth Barksdale. Interment was in Leezy Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri, under the direction of Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Margaret Alberta Osborne Margaret Alberta Osborne, nee Suntken, of Leasburg, Missouri was born on September 7, 1925 at Sibley, Illinois to the union of the late John H. Suntken and Marie Kathryn (Wickman) Suntken and passed away on December 17, 2000 at Rolla, Missouri at the age of 75 years, three months and 10 days. Margaret was one of 13 children. Margaret was preceded in death by eight sisters, three brothers and one granddaughter Margaret Rose Osborne. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church of Sibley, Illinois, Ladies VFW Auxiliary Post No. 6479, Ladies American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Martin Suntken Post of Sibley, Illinois. Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her loving son Chester L. 'Sonny' Osborne and wife Mary; one brother, Ernest Suntken; six grandchildren: Ame Osborne, Steven Osborne, Gale Osborne, Jeffery Norris, James Tutt and Dawn Osborne; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, good friend to all who knew her and will be sadly missed. Margaret Alberta Osborne nee Suntken was in state at the Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri on Monday, December 18, 2000 from 5-8 p.m. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, December 20, 2000 at 2 p.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Anchor, Illinois with Rev. Robert Ferrow officiating.
