MO Local Obituaries for the Week of December 28, 2016 Kenneth Dill Kenneth Dill was born January 24, 1937 in Sullivan, Missouri to Orville (Bud) and Minnie Brewer Dill and passed from on December 15, 2016. He accepted Christ at a young age at Reed's Defeat mission sponsored by Temple Baptist Church. He was licensed to preach at age 17 at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri and later was ordained in 1961 to the Gospel Ministry at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church, his first pastorate. Following Ken's high school graduation, he spent one year in the home building industry with his father. He then went to Wheaton College for a summer. While there he participated in outreach missions under auspices of Pacific Garden Mission. He also had the privilege to preach on States Street in Chicago, which left an indelible impression. From Wheaton Ken attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana and from there he transferred to Baylor University in Waco, Texas. These early experiences fostered his love for reaching the lost for Christ. Ken married Ann Drier on December 1960. While pastoring churches in Franklin County, Ken worked at Meramec Mining Company until the closing in December 1977. Ken and family then moved to Waco, Texas where Ken finished his degree at Baylor University. Ken worked and pastored in and around Waco. He formally retired from Calvary Baptist Church in Bourbon, Missouri in October 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Minnie Dill; parents-in-law, August and Thelma Johnson Drier; brothers-in-law, Jim Johnson and William Marshall; and nephew, Greg Landers. He is survived by his wife, Ann; three daughters, Cheri' and David Hunter, Kim Dill, Cindy and Kent Fox; son, Kevin and special friend Susie Buckner; grandchildren, Nathaniel (Hannah) and Benjamin (Adrianna) Byrum, Dane (Loren) and Gallant Dill, Frank (Kim), Joe and William Fitzpatrick, Carlie Dill and Emily Fox; step grand- children, Brian Hunter and Zack and Bethany Vines; four great grandchildren, Easton Dill, Angelica and Michael Dill, Grasyn Byrum with another Byrum great grandchild due in February; sisters Anna Marie (Jack) Heady, Carol (Jerry) Landers, Alene Marshall; brother, Keith (Stephanie) Dill; brother-in-law, John (Sandy) Drier; sister-in-law, Anna Johnson; fuzzy companion, Molly; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on December 19, 2016 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri. A service celebrating Ken's life was held following the visitation at 1 p.m. with Rev. Birdie May Eldridge Birdie May Eldridge was born on September 23, 1925 to James L. and Clara M. (Sohn) Whitworth at St. Clair, Missouri and passed away Friday, December 16, at the age of 91 years. She married James L. Eldridge on April 18, 1947. Birdie was a homemaker, and she enjoyed raising and caring for her large family. After her husband James passed away in 1967, Birdie moved her children back to Sullivan, Missouri to be with her family. In 1980 she moved to the Sullivan Senior Apartments where she loved tending her rose bushes. She also won the best Christmas decorated yard several times. Birdie was described as a very classy lady. She loved to sing and dance with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing games including Yahtzee, Aggravation, Canasta, Ones and Fives and building houses of cards with the grandkids. Birdie was a Christian and she enjoyed reading her Bible. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Bourbon, Missouri. She was preceded in death by parents, James and Clara Whitworth; husband, James; daughter, Brenda Koenemann; son, James "Bo" Eldridge; three sons-in-law, Dale Boyer, Jim Hardy and Karl Koenemann; two brothers, Arthur and Luther Whitworth; sister, Joyce McGowen; sister-in-law, Mabel Whitworth; and special friend, Raymond Cobine also known as Poppy Ray. Paul Edward Fulliam Paul Edward Fulliam of Steelville, Missouri was born July 10, 1941 in Leasburg, Missouri to Edward and Caroline Rose Rider Fulliam and passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the age of 75 years. On September 20, 1958 in Steelville, Missouri he married Carolyn Faith Carey at the Northside Full Gospel Mission and to this union six children were born. Paul was a faithful member of the Rivers of Life Fellowship Church. He enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and "Young and the Restless." He also enjoyed bowling and rock hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Caroline Fulliam; his wife, Carolyn Fulliam; two brothers, James and John Fulliam; one sister, Bessie Copling; and brothers-in-law, George Carey and wife Ina and Don Boyster. Joseph Wesley Karnes Joseph Wesley Karnes of St. James, Missouri was born December 11, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri to Larry Roy and Mary Lea (Matlock) Karnes and passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the age of 54 years. Joe added fun and laughter to any gathering of friends; making others laugh came very natural to him. His family and friends were constantly on the receiving end of his numerous pranks and practical jokes. He and James spent many hours fishing at Little Prairie Lake, Lake of the Ozarks and the area rivers. He also enjoyed hunting, cooking and collecting coins. He was a jack of all trades during his working years, but most of his time was spent in the carpentry and logging business. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Roy Karnes Sr. on February 10, 2006. Lea of Steelville, Missouri was born December 8, 1928 in Steelville, Missouri to Ross and Opal Clonts Lea and passed away Friday, December 23, 2016. Bill was united in marriage on December 21, 1947 to Dormalie Bowers and to this union six children were born. Bill was a well-known cattleman for many years. Several years ago he was a partner with Jumby Gladden and ran Valleyside Dairy. He always loved to fish and was an avid hunter whether it was morel mushrooms, turkey, squirrel or deer. Anyone talking to Bill knew that he would always have a good story to tell. Gary Lee Lowe Gary Lee Lowe of Owensville, Missouri was born January 14, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri to Peter Brown and Marble Irene (nee Rowden) and passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the age of 70 years. Gary received his education in Union, Missouri and graduated from Union High School in 1963. He was united in marriage to Cathern Hussey March 19, 1977 in St. Clair, Missouri; they made their home in Union, Missouri. In 1980 they moved to Delaware and in 2006 they moved to Owensville, Missouri. Gary retired from Chrysler in 2000. He was proud to have travel to all 48 states by motorcycle. Gary was also a member of the Leasburg First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Lowe. Frona had fought a long and hard battle over the years with diabetes. She married William T. Scantlin Sr. on October 4, 1951 and to this union four children were born. She was a homemaker and babysat for over 26 years to many children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnathan and Etta Shoemaker; and siblings, Henry Shoemaker, Johnathan Shoemaker, Irene Havener, Iva Butler, Ida Koehler, Juanita Sachs, Opal Lottman and Joseph Shoemaker. On June 8, 1963 in Cuba, Missouri she was united in marriage to Thomas Eddy Worley and to this union seven children were born. Judy worked as a clerk at Interstate Livestock in Cuba for over twenty years. She enjoyed quilting, canning, baking and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Millie Carr; one brother, Tom Carr; one sister, Lois Missey; and brothers-in-law, Gary Dillingham and Gene Hogue.
