JOHN W. MILLER John W. Miller was born November 6, 1853 in Frederickstown, Missouri and departed this life on September 9, 1905. John W. Miller, husband of Mary Josephine Moss, died at his home six miles North of Steelville. He had been working in St. Louis, but came home after contacting pneumonia following a sunstroke. He married Mary Josephine Moss on Nov. 16, 1876, of this union were nine children. He was preceded in death by one child, Charles E. Miller. He is survived by his wife of 29 years and five sons, John Logan, Ivy B., Ed L., Joe, Frank Edwin, three daughters, Della May, Alice and Blanche Miller. John was employed as a miner in 1880 in Iron County, Missouri. Also employed as a farmer in 1900, Crawford County, Missouri. When the 1880 Census was taken, John had the Measles.
