MARY ANN LONG (nee Smay) Mary Ann Long was born at Oak Hill, MO., April 5, 1871. She passed away in Maplewood at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elsie Kuhns on Jan. 1, 1938, at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 26 days. Mary was united in marriage on July 3, 1889 in Cuba, MO. to Charles William Long, and to this union 13 children were born. Her husband Charles and eight of her children have preceded her in death. Those left to mourn the loss of a Mother are;, Mrs. Elsie Kuhns of Maplewood, MO.;, Mrs. Leola Bay of Detroit, Michigan, John Long of St. Louis, MO.;, and William and Ervin Long of Cuba, MO. Mrs. Long is survived also by nineteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother, Louis Smay of Bolivar, MO.;, a half brother, Frank Doms of Dillard, MO.; and a half sister, Josie Doms of St. Louis, MO. In early life she was converted and united with the Methodist Church of which until the time of her death she was a loyal member. Funeral services were conducted Monday from the Hollow Funeral Home with Rev. McKowen, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was made in the Kinder Cemetery.
