NATHAN LERANZO TAYLOR Nathan Loranzo Taylor, son of Enoch Taylor and Lucinda O'Neal Taylor was born near Cuba, Missouri, on the 24th day of January, 1882 and departed this life at Fort Supply, Oklahoma on the 13th day of November, 1963, having lived 81 years, 9 months and 19 days. He was united in marriage to Gertrude Fleshman at Steelville, Missouri on January 9, 1907, and to this union one daughter was born. Mr. Taylor spent his entire working career as an employee of the Frisco Railroad Company living first in Cuba and lastly in Leasburg, Missouri. After his retirement he and his wonderful companion spent their time in making one of Leasburg’s best kept homes and many will recall the beauty of the home during the growing season of the year. Like all of men’s works and dreams, the earthly splendor of their lives was shattered when Mrs. Taylor passed away on August 17, 1961. Besides the parents, Mr. Taylor was also preceded in death by one sister, Lillie Wilburn and four brothers, Willis, Joseph, Ed and Jasper Taylor. Those who survive his departure are: his loving daughter and son-in-law, Grayce and Gene Swope of Enid, Oklahoma, and one granddaughter, Mrs. Jean Helen McFarland of Rolla, Missouri, one sister, Mrs. Bessie Sweetin of Cuba, Missouri; two brothers, Wiley of Cuba, Missouri and George of Valley Park, Missouri. Surviving also is one grandson-in- law, Jack McFarland of Rolla, Missouri, 3 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law; brother-in-law; the many nieces and nephews and a great number of friends. Mr. Taylor was in state at the Hoener Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri where services were held for him at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 17th. Reverend Joseph Cario, pastor of Christ Church Episcopal of Rolla, Mo., officiating. Favorite hymns were played at the organ by Miss Audrey Ove.
