OPAL MAE BARR (nee Moss) Mrs. Opal Mae Barr, 63, passed away Sunday, September 8, 1974, at her home in Carrollton, MO. Mrs. Barr was born May 11, 1911, in Oak Hill, Missouri, the daughter of Logan Terry and Minnie Elizabeth Moss. She was married to Wendell Barr who preceded her in death in 1968. Mrs. Barr attended school in Steelville, MO. and taught school in Crawford County, MO. before she and her husband came to Carrollton in 1965 where they owned and operated the Midwest Auto Store. Mrs. Barr closed out the store about a year ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carrollton and Order of the Eastern Star Vesta Chapter, No. 5. Survivors include a brother, Terry Logan Moss, and a sister Mrs. Larry Dawson, both of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and a niece Mrs. Richard Dunlop,also of Council Bluff, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 10, 1974, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton. Rev. Archie Warren officiating. Mr. and Mrs. George McMillan and Mrs. Pauline Shelton all of Steelville, and Mrs. Florence Conlin Bare of Cuba were among those who were in attendance at the funeral service.
