HAZEL MAE BARNES Hazel Mae Barns, daughter of the late Richard M. and Mary A. Witt, was born on October 4, 1921 in Washington County, Missouri and departed this life on November 8, 1975 at Sullivan, Missouri, having attained the age of 54 years, one month and four days. Hazel, as she was known to her family and friends was a life long resident of the Sullivan area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bourbon, Missouri. Surviving her are: her husband, Harry P. Barnes, three daughters, Mrs. Carole Shattuck of Crocker, Missouri, Mrs. Georgia Blum of Bourbon, Missouri and Mrs. Glenda Mueller of Sullivan, Missouri; two sons, Melvin M. Missey of San Diego, California and Austin N. Missey of Chattanooga, Tennessee; seven sisters, Estell Jergens, Edna Hoyle, Margie Payne and Betty Byington, all of Sullivan, Missouri, Nora Bullock of North Hollywood, California, Marion Loverich of Union, Missouri and Genevieve Simmons of Cuba, Missouri; five brothers, James Witt and Charles Witt of Sullivan, Missouri, Lewis Witt of Pacific, Missouri, Wendell Witt of Fenton, Missouri and Kenny Witt of Stanton, Missouri; six grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George Missey and one sister, Cecil Campbell. A kind and living wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. She will be sadly missed by her loved ones and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wedneday, November 12, 1975 from the First Baptist Church, Bourbon, Missouri with Rev. Robert Eberle officiating. Interment was in the Hill Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hassebroek's Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
