John Albrecht John W. Albrecht, son of the late John R. and Clara Twist Albrecht was born on March 5, 1924 in St. Louis and departed this life on December 27, 1989 at the John Cochran Veterans Hospital in St. Louis, having attained the age of 65 years, 9 months and 22 days. Jack was a longtime resident of St. Louis where he worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse from 1948 until 1965 and then as a security guard until 1970 when ill health forced his retirement. In 1970 he then moved to Bourbon, where he made his home. During World War II he served his country with the United States Army Air Force. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Bourbon, and a Charter life member of the DAV Chapter 65, Cuba. Surviving him are: a sister, Dorothy Huntze of St. Louis; two brothers, Lindy Albrecht of Affton and Robert Albrecht of Cahokia, Mo.; nieces; nephews, other relatives and many friends. On August 17, 1946 he was united in marriage to Virginia J. Rose who preceded him in death on September 1, 1988. Graveside services and interment were held Friday, December 29, 1989 at the National Cemetery in Jefferson Barracks, with Pastor Jim Huit officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hassebroek's Bourbon Chapel, Bourbon.
