TREFFIE HOWARD ADAMS Treffie Howard Adams was born at Dillard, Missouri, October 20, 1912, to James Franklin and Lucinda Ellen (Willhite) Adams and entered eternal life, October 29, 1993, at Salem Memorial Hospital, at the age of 81 years and 9 days. In 1976 he was baptised and became a member of Macedonia United Baptist Church of Boss, Missouri He was united in marriage to Hilma Mae Davis October 24, 1934, at Steelville, Missouri. To this union seven children, four daughters and three sons were born. In addition to his parents, Treffie was preceded in death, by a son, Roger Wayne Adams in 1949; three sons-in-law, Joe Wilson, Robert Voyles, and Eugene Turnbough; two grandsons, Rodney Dale Breier, and Treffie Ray Breier, and one great granddaughter, Heather Whiteman. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving and devoted wife of fifty-nine years, Hilma of the home in Salem, Missouri; four daughters, Roberta Mae Voyles of Isabella, Missouri; Rowena Marcella Turnbough of Viburnum, Missouri; Mary Alice Wilson of Tampa, Florida and Patty Sue and husband Melvin Decker of Linn, Missouri; two sons Arnold Howard Adams and wife Ella of Luebbering, Missouri and Gordon Hugh Adams and wife Joyce of Londell, Missouri; twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Jake Adams and wife Bernice of Virburnum, Missouri and Clifford Adams of Salem, Missouri; two sisters, Manervia Arisman of Salem, Missouri and Nellie Gillam of Potosi, Missouri; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gilbert and Ina Davis, Louis and Agnes Davis, both of Steelville, Missouri; Jack and Ina Davis of Imperial, Missouri, Glen and Virginia Davis of Hillsboro, Missouri, Max and Mildred Davis of St. Louis, Missouri, Hazel and Ray Gibbs of Cuba, Missouri, Elsie (Mrs. Eugene) Davis of Overland, Missouri, Nerene and Bruce McGlasson of Davisville, Missouri and Joann and Bob Crabtree of Bridgeton, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Treffie spent eight years of his life at Dillard near the place where he was born. His smile, quiet love and friendship will be missed by his family and friends. Treffie Howard Adams lay in state after 11 A.M. Sunday, October 31, 1993, at the Britton Bros. Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Funeral services were held 10 A.M. Monday, November 1, 1993, in the Britton Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Parker officiating. Beautiful traditional hymns were provided by a choir of family members. Honoring their grandfather as pallbearers were Arnold (Sonny) Adams, Keith Adams, Lee English, Bobby Gambin, Gordon Gambin and Chris Stuckmeyer. Committal prayers and interment were in Old Dillard Cemetery, Dillard, Missouri.
