MELVIN E. COOK

   Melvin Edward Cook of Potosi, Missouri, departed this life
Thursday, March 24, 1994, at his residence at the age of fifty-
nine years.  He was born February 13, 1935, in Granite City,
Illinois, a son the late Allen J. and Nora Alice (Decker) Cook.
   Mr. Cook was a United States Naval Veteran of the Korean
Conflict.
   He leaves to survive him two sisters, Norma Tankersley of
Granite City, Illinois, and Dolores Coleman of Potosi; nieces,
nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
   In addition to his parents, Mr. Cook was preceded in death by
two brothers, Allen J. Cook, Jr. and Philip Cook, and three
sisters, Ruth Medley, Marjorie Brown, and an infant sister.
   There was no visitation or services.  Wishing to help others
posthumously, Mr. Cook donated his body to St. Louis University
School of Medicine.  Arrangements were under the direction of
Gum & Son Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
