JAMES ELDON EVANS James Eldon Evans was born April 15, 1928, a son of the late Gerome Franklin and Catherine (Obermark) Evans and entered eternal life, July 6, 1994, at the home of his daughter, Cuba, Mo., July 6, 1994, at the age of 66 years, 2 months and 21 days. Eldon was united in marriage to Della Mae Heady and to this union three sons and one daughter were born. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, Wayne Evans; one brother, Leeman Evans and a grandson, James Randall Evans, Jr. Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his devoted daughter, Sandy and husband Warren Combs of Cuba, Mo.; two loving sons, Randy Evans of Cuba, Mo. and Danny Evans and wife Patty of Sullivan, Mo.; two step-daughters, Nancy and husband Mike Smith and Esther and husband Tim Richardson and son step-grandson, Jamie Kiblinger, all of Berryman, Mo.; one brother, Ellis Evans and wife Ardell of Steelville, Mo.; four sisters, Lucille and husband Clinton Hill, of Cuba,Mo.; Eileen and husband Orville Pratt of Bethalto, Ill.; Erma Lee and husband Leon Sellers of Imperial, Mo. and Lila Hunter of St. Louis, Mo.; five grandchildren, Dawnelle Renee Combs, Warren James Combs, Thomas Jerome Evans, Victoria Nicole Evans and Kevin Wayne Evans; seven step-children, Elizabeth Thillen, Jackie and Vanessa Smith, Danielle, Ashley, Bobby and Stacey Richardson; two aunts, Etta Bryant of Licking, Mo. and Edna Evans of Potosi, Mo.; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. James Eldon Evans lay in state after 5 P.M. Friday, July 8, 1994, at the Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo. Funeral services were held 2 P.M. Saturday, July 9, 1994, in the Britton Chapel with Rev. Dean Heady and Rev. Steve Evans Officiating. Musical selections were provided by vocalist Makinsey Norris and pianist Helen Platter. Committal prayers and interment were in Shoal Creek Cemetery, Rural Steelville, Mo. Pallbearers were Frank Evans, Bobby Hunter, Tom Hunter, John Koch, Kent Sellers and Gary Tillman. Arrangements were under the direction of Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo.
