Ellis Homer Landers of Sullivan, passed away Thursday, September 15, 1994 at the age of 79 years. Mr. Landers was born May 30, 1915 in Belleview, Missouri to the late Charles and Celia (Cox) Landers. He spent most of his childhood in the St. Louis area and in later years was a meat packer for the Swift Packing Company. On September 27, 1993 he was married to Ida Downing and to this marriage three children were born. Mr. Landers honorably served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army in the European-African Theater and was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. After the war, he made his home in Sullivan. He is survived by his wife Ida Landers of Sullivan two sons and daughters-in-law Jerry and Carol Landers, Wayne and Doris Landers all of Bourbon, one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Alex Fedak of Florissant, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Mr. Landers was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Graveside funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Friday, September 16, 1994 in Meramec Hills Memorial Gardens, Cuba, with the Rev. John Beckett officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan.
