Bobby Gene Vanhooser, son of the late Don and Ella Morgan Vanhooser, was born on April 4, 1925, in Aldrich, Missouri and departed this life on April 11, 1994, in Orange Park, Florida having attained the age of 69 years and 7 days. Bobby was a native of Aldrich, Missouri, and served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was the recipient of a purple heart for outstanding valor during his military career. He as a member of the Lockwood Baptist Church, Lockwood, Missouri; The United Steel Workers; American Federation of Labor; Congress of Industrial Operations and American Legion. Surviving him are: his wife, Sarah Vanhooser, nee Hardy, of Green Cove Springs, Florida; two sons, Michael and wife Patricia Vanhooser and Patrick and wife Kathleen Vanhooser both of Maryland Heights, Missouri; three daughters, Jane and Jan Vanhooser of Orange Park, Florida, and Carol Oliveri and husband Ramsey of Middleburg, Florida; three sisters, Helen Taylor of Carthage, Missouri, Mary Ferrell of Springfield, Missouri, and Martha Clark of Greenfield, Missouri; one brother, Carol Vanhooser of Greenfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Carol, a sister, Phyllis O'Dell and a brother Billy. He was a kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather, and friend. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Graveside services and interment were held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 1994, from the Hill Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Palmer officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hassebroek's Bourbon Chapel, Bourbon, Missouri.
