Eldridge sr. is born - Dallas Co. 1847 First wife Lovica/Lovicy Stikes/Stykes dies – Dallas Co. Mo. 1847 Enlisted as a first lieutenant in Gilpin’s Missouri Mounted Volunteers – Buffalo Mo. 1848 Wounded in action against Pawnee Indians – Cimarron OK 1848 Honorable discharged from service. – Independence Mo. 1850 Marries Melissa Townsen/Townsend – Dallas Co. Mo. 1857 Serves in the 26th Missouri General Assembly as a representative form Dallas Co. 1864 Captain in Dallas County Mounted Regiment Home Guard. 1871 Wife Melissa passes away. Buried in Dallas Co. 1878 Marries wife Nancy Edington (first husband’s last name) – Dallas Co. 1879 Joseph passes away and is buried between Melissa and Lovica/Lovicy in Dallas Co.
