John Reynolds HOOBLER was born April 30, 1826 in Covington, Miami Co., Ohio to parents John Robert and Margaret HOOBLER. John married Ann Marie Tibbits, daughter of Robert and Martha Ann Pangburn Tibbits May 1851. Their children were: John Robert b 1852 Rockville, Adams Co., OH.; George Alvin b 1853 Rockville; Martha Ann b 1854 Greenfield, Hancock Co., IN.; William Washington b 1857 Greenfield; Henry Houston b. 1859 Greenfield; Emerette b. 1862 Greenfield; Sherman David b. 1865 Greenfield. John enlisted August 16, 1862 and served in the Company "G", 5 Reg't, Indiana Cavalry. He was honorably discharged July 27, 1864.The first land deeds were found in Dallas County, Missouri 1872. He continued to own land in Dallas Co. and engage in farming near Foose, Missouri. Ann Hoobler died November 9, 1893 in Jackson Township, Dallas Co., Missouri and is buried in Church Grove Cemetery, Dallas Co.. John remarried to Martha Carolyn Bilyeu and had other children.
