He came to Dallas Co. and married Missouri Ann Gregg on June 27, 1872 in Dallas Co., MO. Missouri Ann was born Feb 20, 1848 in Dallas Co. and died January 20, 1874 in Red Top, Dallas Co., MO.. John was a farmer and nurseryman, proprietor of Midway Nursery at RedTop, MO..John and Missouri had Effie Viola Hoobler born March 28, 1873 in Dallas Co., MO..After the death of his wife, Missouri, he married Malissa Jane Agee, daughter of William Oliver and Mary Elizabeth Verdot Agee of Dallas Co., MO.. John and Malissa were married February 5, 1880, Dallas Co., MO where they raised their family. John purchased land in the County of Dallas, September 10, 1886 on a Swamp Land Patent. The 1900 Dallas County Census shows them living in Jackson Township with the following children: Flora M., Ida M., Henry H., William A., Myrlie, Ona D., Ruth B.! Articles about John's nursery, listed in the Buffalo Reflex, November 2, 1905 issue as "J. B. Hoobler & Son", tell of his taking orders for fruit trees in Buffalo. Buffalo Reflex, February 6, 1908 article tells of bills being printed for an auction, 10 miles south of Buffalo to sell his personal property on February 14 with him intending to move to Oklahoma. A family personal letter states that he had traded his farm there in Red Top of 100 acres for a farm of 160 acres in Hooker, Texas Co., OK.. In 1908 their family moved to Hooker, Oklahoma.
