Mr. S. M. Warner was born Dec. 3rd 1839 and died Sept. 25th. 1913 at his home three miles north of Tunas. His age was 73 years 9 months 22 days. He was married to Marriella A. Neptune Aug. 20 1874 and to this union was born nine children, all of whom with the mother are left to mourn the death of a kind and loving father and a devoted husband. Five of the children, E. L.; P. A. ; J. E.; and Mamie Warner and Mrs. G. B. Brite were in Canada. Mrs. Gracie Allen was in Ohio and Mrs. Frank Carter was in Saline Co. Mo. At the time of his death. The others S. O. Warner and Mrs. Samuel Allen were with many friends at his bedside to administer to his wants and to do all that loving hands and medical skills could do until death relieved his suffering. He made a profession of Christ about nine years ago at New Liberty Church. He had seemed in good health, and it was a shock when on Tuesday morning Sept. 23rd he was suddenly stricken with paralysis and lived only forty eight hours. Yet the sweet, silent melodium of death is but an endless chain of peace and rest, and we recall with counseling confidence the words of the late Bob Taylor. My friends look now the rose hears the far away call of the sun and blushes in the presence of God. Look how the violet comes forth from it’s tiny tomb and opens it’s glad eyes to greet the spring. Are they not God’s own answer to the question, “If a man dies shall he live again? “Can it be the flowers and grasses have resurrected from the sod of earth while man for whom they were made must sleep on forever”? Many friends unite with us in extending our sincere sympathy to the bereaved. Additional Comments: This is a copy of my great great grand fathers obit. Samuel was the son of Miran Warner and Sarah Lenover and was born in Dearborn County Indian near Dillsboro. He married Marrilla in Lawrence County Ohio. He is buried with his wife and several children in Dallas County, Tunas Missouri in the Hopewell Church Cemetery.
