Deed Book B, p. 287 This indenture made this 2nd second day of June in the year of our Lord one- thousand eight-hundred and forty-one between Sebrina Allen of the County of Daviess and State of Missouri of the one part and William Splawn of the County of Daviess and State of Missouri of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Sebrina Allen in consideration of the sum of one-hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged do hereby bargain, grant, sell, convey and confirm unto the said William Splawn his heirs and assigns forever all that piece or parcel of land situated and being in the County of Daviess and State of Missouri towit: The East half of the Southeast quarter of Section no. 24 in Township no. 58 North of the base line of Range no. 28 West of the 5th principal Meridian containing 80 acres more or less. Together with all and singular the appertenances thereunto belonging or in anywise apertaining to have and to hold the above described premises unto the said William Splawn his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Sebrina Allen party of the first part hereunto set her hand and seal the day and year above written. Sebrina (her mark) Allen seal Signed, sealed, and delivered in the presence of James W. Wilson State of Missouri County of Daviess Be it remembered that on the second day of June in the year of our Lord one- thousand eight-hundred and forty-one before me James W. Wilson one of the Justices of the Peace within and for the county aforesaid personally appeared Sebrina Allen who are personally known to me to be the person who are named as parties thereto and acknowledges the same to be her actuance for the purposes therein mentioned. Pensiton Recorder Additional Comments: Sebrina Allen was the widow of Jesse Allen, both natives of Tennessee. Sebrina was a widow at the time of the selling of this real estate and thus her husband is not mentioned in the deed. Sebrina Allen later married Richard Wooderson, Sr. Sebrina's father, Isaac Splawn, was an original settler of Daviess Co., Mo., Sheridan Twsp. Sebrina was the mother of Nancy Allen Givens, Martha Allen McCrary, Eliza Allen Wooderson Castor, Barriba Allen Riggs, Jesse Allen, and Isaac Allen. The William Splawn mentioned here is Sebrina's brother-in-law and her first cousin. William's wife Martha (Patsy) Splawn Splawn was Sebrina Allen's sister.
