William Givens was a brother to Merrit Givens whose family information is 
listed elsewhere in the Daviess Co., Mo. Archives.  William lived after his 
marriage to Sally Coots in Caldwell Co., Mo. next to his step-father and 
mother Wallace and Susanna McAfee.  He was one of the original settlers in 
that county.  He grew up in Clay, Ray, and Daviess Co., Mo.  He died young and 
his wife re-married.  Some of his children migrated to Dallas Co., Texas.
