Givens McFee's father, Samuel McFee (McAfee), was a half-brother to Merritt 
Givens of Daviess Co., Mo.; William Givens of Caldwell Co., Mo.; Isaac Givens 
of DeKalb, Gentry and Worth Cos., Mo. and McPherson Co., Ks. and James Givens 
of Caldwell Co., Mo.  William and James Givens were early settlers of Caldwell 
Co., Mo. (see 1840 and 1850 Census) and Merrit Givens was an early settler of 
Daviess Co., Mo. (see 1840, 1850, and 1860 Census).  Obviously, Samuel named 
his son for his half-brothers.
