Biographical Sketch of Levi T. Pemberton, Dent County, Missouri >From "History of Laclede, Camden, Dallas, Webster, Wright, Texas, Pulaski, Phelps and Dent Counties, Missouri" The Goodspeed Publishing Company, 1889. ********************************************************************** Levi T. Pemberton, farmer and stock raiser of Linn Township, was born in Wilson County, Tenn., November 30, 1846, and is a son of Jesse B. Pemberton, whose sketch appears in this work. He is the second of six children, and made his parents' house his home until twenty-five years of age, when he began the battle of life for himself, and on February 20, 1873, was united in marriage to Miss Mary Holman, who was born in Dent County, Mo., October 27, 1847. Her parents, William and Nancy Holman, who were natives of Overton County, Tenn., came to Missouri in 1845, and were among the first settlers of the Meramec Valley, in Linn Township. Soon after his marriage Mr. Pemberton located on a farm in Meramec Township, but at the end of nine years moved to the farm of 284 acres on which he now resides. It is one of the best in the Mera- mec Valley, and 100 acres are under good cultivation. He has always been a highly respected citizen, and in his political views is a Demo- crat, and is also a member of the order of Good Templars.
