East quarter of section No 18 in township No 41 of range No two east containing fifty acres and 4/100 of an acre Written: May 29, 1849 Recorded: May 31, 1849 This deed made and entered into this township ninth day of March in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty nine by and between Wesley Pierce and Margaret his wife of the County of Franklin and State of Missouri of the first part and Thomas M. Hoff of the second part all of the County of Franklin and State of Missouri Witnesseth that the said part of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain unto the said part of the second part his heirs and assigns forever unto the North east quarter of the N. East quarter of section No 18 in township No 41 of range No two east containing fifty acres and 4/100 of an acre. To have and to hold the same with all the rights privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or anywise appertaining unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever the said party of the first part covenanting that their heirs, executors and administrators will warrant and forever defend the title to the said premises and every part thereof unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns against the lawful claim or claims of every person or persons whatsoever claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof and that their lawfully seized indefeasible estate in fee simple in the real estate hereby conveyed and have good right to sell and convey the same and that the same is free from all encumbrances In witness whereof the said part of the first part have hereunto set their hand and seals day and year herein first above written. Bailey Wesley Pierce State of Missouri Margaret Pierce (her mark) County of Franklin Be it remembered that Wesley Pierce and Margaret his wife who are personally known to me the undersigned a justice of the peace within and for the County aforesaid to be the persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing instrument of writing as parties thereto this day appeared before me and acknowledged that they executed and delivered the same as their voluntary act and deed for the uses and purposes and the said Margaret being by me acquainted with the content of said deed acknowledged on examination apart from her said husband that she executed the same and relinquishes her dower in the real estate therein mentioned freely in and without compulsion or undue influence of her said husband.
