Franklin County, Missouri deed book X, pp. 227-228 Names in this record: BAUER, Michael SCHWENTKER, Charles, Louise VALLÉE, John, Mary John & Mary Ann Vallée to Charles Schwentker, 7 Feb 1865, 114 acres in Franklin County page 227 Know all men by these presents that we John Vallée and Mary Ann Vallée his wife of the County of Franklin in the State of Missouri for the sum of five dollars to us paid by Charles Schwentker of the County of Franklin in the state aforesaid do grant, bargain sell and mortgage, unto the said Charles Schwentker, his heirs and assigns, the following piece or parcel of ground, situate in the County of Franklin in the State of Missouri to wit: The North east quarter of the North east quarter of section twenty two (22) and the South east qr. of the South east qr. and also the North east quarter of the South East qr. of section fifteen (15) all in township forty four (44) Range three (3) West there is however three acres in the North east corner and three acres in the South west corner of the last mentioned tract reserved, the tract hereby sold is one hundred and fourteen acres more or less, being the same premises conveyed on the 15th day of November 1864 to the said John Vallée by Charles Schwentker & Louise his wife and this deed is made to secure the payment of the purchase money of said premises. Provided that if I the said John Vallée shall well and truly pay unto the said Charles Schwentker or his assigns the sum of five hundred and fifty Dollars, on or before the 15th day of November A.D. 1867, with interest from date at the rate of six per cent, and for which sum I have this day given to the said Charles Schwentker my promisory note of this date and payable on or before the 15th day of November 1867, then this deed to be void, In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this 7th day of February A.D. 1865. John Vallée Mary Ann Vallée x her mark State of Missouri County of Franklin SS I Michael Bauer, a Notary Public within and for the County aforesaid do certify that on this ______ day of _______ 1865 came before me John Vallée and Mary Ann Vallée his wife who are personally known to me to be the same persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing instrument of writing as parties thereto and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed for the purpose therein mentioned. She the said Mary Ann, being by me first made acquainted with the contents of said instrument of writing, upon an examination apart from her said husband acknowledged that she executed the same and relinquished her dower in the real estate therein mentioned freely and without compulsion page 228 or undue influence of her said husband.
