Franklin County Tribune September 21, 1916
As a result of lightning striking a sycamore tree at the Sycamore School this 
week, one child is dead and two others are in serious condition.  The school 
is being taught by Miss Maggie Mester.  The pupils were playing under the tree 
at the noon hour.  One child, Freeman Arnold died soon after the shock.  Two 
other boys named Nappier and Leffler, were resuscitated with difficulty and 
are still in precarious condition.

Additional Comments:
Trueman Solomon Arnold was the only son of Eliza (Dickinson) and Daniel Perry 
Arnold.  They are buried together in Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery in Franklin 
County, Missouri
