Franklin County, Missouri Wills - LEMUEL BATES 25 SEPT 1895 I, Lemuel Bates, of the Township of Boone, County of Franklin and State of Missouri being of sound and disposing mind, do make, publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all other Wills by me at any time heretofore made, in manner following that is to say: I. I hereby bequeth first that all of my just and honest debts shall be paid together with the expences of my funeral. II. I give, devise and bequeth that all of my property wether Real or Personal shall belong as I hereby give the same to my beloved Wife Nancy Jane Bates during her Natural Life, after the death of my beloved Wife Nancy Jane Bates the property wether Real or Personal shall be devided as follows to wit. III. I give, devise and bequeth to my Daughter Louise Ellen Rodgers, the Wife of Thomas Rodgers the sum of One Dollar. IV. I give, devise and bequeth to my son Mathew J. Bates the sum of Two Hundred Dollars. V. All the rest residue and remainder of the property and estate, as well Real or Personal and wheresoever situated which at the time of my death shall belong to me or be subject to my disposal by Will, I give, devise and bequeth in equal parts, that is to say, one shall not receive any more than the other to my following named children: Mary F. Rodger, Elizabeth A. Richardson, Mathew J. Bates, Martha M. Talley, Arthur Misse Batchelor and Sarah J. Davis. I hereby nominate and appoint Mathew J. Bates, James N. Batchelor, and E. N. Talley to be the Executors and Administrators without Bond of this my Last Will and Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this the 25th day of September A.D. 1895. L.
