Donald Arthur Branson Jr., of Belle, died Friday, August 31, 2001, at the 
University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia of injuries sustained from 
an automobile accident. He was 34 years of age.
He was born January 5, 1967, in Jefferson City, a son of Donald and Julia 
Branson, and they survive.
In addition to his parents, he is also survived by one brother, Jeff Branson 
and his wife Nina of Belle; three sisters, Tammy Abernathy and her husband 
Paul of Bland; Shelly Cote of Belle; and Sheila Schlicker of Jax, Florida; 
nieces and nephews, Kyle and Shannon Branson; Thomas Cote; Jason Seba; James, 
Steven, and Sheena Craigmiles; and Casey Henderson; and a special friend, 
Carrie Jenkins of Lake Crystal, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Georgia Bockover and 
Warren and Opel Branson.
Mr. Branson was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Belle. He graduated 
from Belle High School in 1985, where he was an active member of the FFA and 
the manager of the boy's basketball tewm. He served four years in the United 
States Navy as a medical corpsman in the Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, 
Calif., where he received two commendations. He worked in the naval school of 
health sciences and the L.V. department as an assistant director. After the 
Navy he spent several years in the medical profession and worked the last year 
for the Missouri Department of Corrections.
Burial was made in the Skaggs Chapel Cemetery in Belle.
