Biographical Sketch of Wallace Hubbard, Gentry County, Missouri >From "History of Gentry and Worth Counties", Biographical Sketches of the Bench and Bar, St. Joseph, Mo.: National Historical Company, 1882. ********************************************************************** Wallace Hubbard On the 4th of December, 1851, in the little town of Pattonsburg, Daviess County, Missouri, was born Wallace Hubbard, the son of Edgar L. and Elizabeth Hubbard. His earliest education was received in the common schools of his native county, the last two years of his school life being spent at the Christian University, at Camden, Missouri. April 17, 1873, he entered the law office of Judge George E. Lewis, under whose instructions he studied law and was finally admitted to the practice in May, 1875, in Albany, where he has since resided. From 1876 to 1879 he was the attorney for the city of Albany. He formed a law partnership with Judge Lewis in June, 1875, which continued until January, 1880. In 1880 he became the Democratic candidate for county attorney for Gentry County, and was elected to that office in the fall of the same year. He is also the present city treasurer.
