Gentry County Missouri Hugh Barnes Teel preachers book This book once belonged to Hugh Barnes Teel and traveling preacher in Gentry and possibly a few other counties. There are some churches in here that I am not familiar with. I would appreciate any shared thoughts on this book and information about the churches. I will put down page by page as the book reads. Some may not make sense to me but may to someone else. It is a pocket size book 5x7 inches and bound in a hard back typical of the time. It looks like the word ledger is molded into the front cover and it brown in color. Back of front cover: H P Teel May 17m 1872 (there is other pencil writing that I can not make out) Pages: 1. The conference year now closeing has been one of toil and labors we have reason to believe however tht the labour expended is such as shall till for good in years to come 1 as a confes = we can not fail to be simply impressed with the fact that to us who now labor there is committed the great and very important work of laying deep the foundation on which a glorious super structure may arise be built by those who shall succeed us in this glorious calling. If we are properly in prayers with this fact we shall then seek the wise councel and judicious action may obtain in every part of our yearly conference 46 In order that such action may obtain it is important tht we seek to unders the demand of the church for as properly to meet the same. The labors of another conference year is before us we rejoice to believe however that we can look upon the future within our bounds as full of promise it is true the labours is are fair.? This in fact is one of the grat difficulties under which we labor 47 But let us resolve as ministers and lay brothn With an increase sufficient to man the work and baptism of the Holy S. to sanctify every power of the layity and ministural host and every gift of the church and that the coming conference year may be a great success over and victor over the powers of darkness 48 Restore sight Blind Bartimeus St Mark 10 46 St John 9 6 H B Teel was converted August 19th 1855 H B Teel was licened to exhort Nov 12th 1859 and licened to preach Sept 1st 1860 H Doyl ch H B Teel Sec 49 Mary L French (looks like an L) Born Dec 28, 1860 Died March 3, 1910 Buried in Juliaetta, Idaho, on Mar 5-10 50 There are four scriptural affirmations of the supreme divinity of Christ 1 He is the creator of all thing 2 He created them for his self and not for another, He who acts only as a delegater act not for himself but for the power that delegated him, but here we find all things was made by Christ and for him that is for his own glory. 3 He is before all things and consequently is not a thing but a self existence 4 By him all things consist or are upheld by the work of his power the government of the universe is upon his shoulder how to put the old prog of the Old and New Testament to gether God made Heaven and earth a Christ mad all things therefore Christ is God 51 Spring Grove Thom Allison Sarah J Allison E K Woods Myria Woods Sister Readmond Henry Darmah Darmah B Henry Moss S Moss S Bowls Parton Catterson Sadena?
