All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Tri-County News, Friday, November 21, 2003: Clifford Armstrong: Clifford Armstrong, 93, Stanberry, died Nov. 11, 2003, at Pine View Manor in Stanberry. Mr. Armstrong was born Aug. 23, 1910, near Conception, MO. and had lived near Stanberry all of his adult life. He was the son of Andrew and Esta Stuart Armstrong and was a graduate of Stanberry high school in 1929. He was a member of the Stanberry First Baptist Church and the Stanberry Senior Center. Clifford was a conductor for the Wabash Railroad and belonged to the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. Mr. Armstrong married Marie Swinford on Feb. 2, 1935. She preceded him in death in 1992. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Rev. Edmond Armstrong; a half-sister, Cecile Wood Cook and a half-brother, Ezra Wood. He is survived by a daughter, Rita Case and husband, Virgil Lee, of King City; a granddaughter; Cindy Neidinger, St. Joseph, and two great-grandsons. Funeral services were held on Nov. 15 at the First Baptist Church, Stanberry. Burial was in High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stanberry Senior Center. Arrangements were handled by Roberson- Polley Chapel in Stanberry.
