All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Stanberry Headlight, 23 January 2004: Carmeta Arnold: Carmeta Arnold, 85, Albany, formerly of Stanberry, died Jan. 19, 2004, at Pine View Manor in Stanberry. She was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Worth County; the daughter of Elmer and Ruth (McMichael) Sharp. She lived in Albany and attended school there after attending four years at Howell Country School. On Aug. 25, 1934, she married Earl G. Arnold in Stanberry. They were members of the Stanberry Baptist Church, where they were baptized together by Rev. Don Stanley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, on March 2, 1968 and also by her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold farmed in the Stanberry area for several years and operated a flower shop there for four years. In 1970, Mrs. Arnold became a Nurse's Aid. After completing training at the Colonial Manor in Albany, she worked at the hospital and rest home in Albany. In later years she moved to Albany and became a member of the Albany Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Madonna Carroll, Stanberry; Carleta Foreman, Mercer; one son, Dr. Earl L. Arnold, Old Hickory, TN.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held today, Jan. 23, at the First Baptist Church, Stanberry, with burial in High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry. She requested that memorials be given to the Stanberry and Albany Baptist Churches. Arrangements were handled by Roberson-Polley Chapel, Stanberry.
