Baley died last Friday: Funeral services were held here Sunday Afternoon for Resident who had lived here for 30 years. Thomas F. Baley, a resident of Stanberry and vicinity for the past 30 years, died at 1:30 o'clock last Friday afternoon at his home in west Stanberry. He had been in failing health for the past several years and had been seriously ill for several weeks. His death was attributed to the infirmities of old age. Mr. Baley was 86 years, one month and seven days old at the time of his death. Funeral services were held here Sunday afternoon at the Phillips Mortuary, conducted by the Rev. Albert W. Blood, pastor of the Methodist church. Interment was in the High Ridge cemetery. Mr. Baley was of pioneer Nodaway county parentage. The son of John and Sarah Brown Baley. It was his grandfather, Thomas A Brown, who was the first representative elected in Nodaway county. He was born on a farm between Barnard and Bolckow, MO., and spent his early life there. Prior to coming to Stanberry, he was an engineer for the old Hannibal & St. Joseph Railway Co., which later became the C. B. & Q. Railway Co., for a period of about 30 years. During his employment on this railroad, he made his home in Brookfield, MO. While living there, Mr. Baley was married to Miss Mary Bowlen, who preceded him in death more than 40 years ago. Her death occurred at Brookfield. Upon his return to this vicinity, Mr. Baley farmed near Stanberry, was employed on the bridge crew for the Wabash Railway Co., for a time and for the past ten years had not engaged in any regular employment. Surviving him are two brothers and two sisters, who are; Wm. Baley, of Ft. Worth, TX., J. B. "Fred" Bailey, of Stanberry, Mrs. John Murry, of Stanberry, and Mrs. Jincy Kimbrell, of St. Joseph.
