"Jack" Birdsell, 70, died February 20, 2002, at a Kansas City hospital. The son of the late Glen and Elsie Dalbey Birdsell, he was born August 23, 1931, in Gentry County. A farmer and retired member of the board of directors of Grand River Mutual Telephone Company, he was a deacon and member of the First Baptist Church, Stanberry. On July 26, 1952, he married Lois Maxine Reynolds. She preceded him in death. Other preceding him death were two sisters, LaRue Winegardener and Vivian Messner, and one brother, Glenn Birdsell, jr. Survivors: four sons, Steven Birdsell, Plano, TX., Clifford Birdsell, Carmel, IN., Bob and Carl Birdsell, both of Stanberry; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were February 23, 2002, under the direction of Roberson- Polley Chapel, Stanberry, with burial at High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry.
