Bleish Dies Tuesday Night: A. S. Bleish, 79, prominent Gentry county citizen and former probate judge of Gentry county, passed away Tuesday night at about 7 o'clock at the Gentry County Memorial hospital in Albany. His death was due to a stroke which he sustained at his home about 9 o'clock Monday night. Mrs. Bleish summoned Dr. Bernie Parsons to the Bleish home and he was taken immediately to the hospital. Shortly after being admitted to the hospital, Judge Bleish lapsed into a coma. He never regained consciousness. Judge Bleish had been in failing health for the past eight or 10 years. Ill health forced him to resign his post as probate judge back in October, 1958. Following his resignation from the office, Governor James T. Blair, Jr., named Judge Milton Hull to the probate post in this count. Judge Bleish was one of the fine probate judges who had served Gentry county. Conscientious in every decision he made, he was truly an outstanding official. He had a wide circle of friends over Gentry county. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Bleish and was born at McFall, Mo., on Apr. 7, 1887. He attended the grade school at McFall and took his high school courses at the Welch Military Academy at Columbia, Mo. Following his graduation from the military academy, he entered the law school at the University of Missouri and received his law degree in 1914. He then returned to gentry county and was associated with his father in the operation of an outstanding store known as "The Beehive" at McFall. When World War I developed, Judge Bleish served in the United States Army. He served in the armed forces for one or two years and received an honorable discharge. He and Miss Louise Marshall of Mound City, Mo., were married in November, 1919. To that union were born two children, William M. Bleish of Leawood, Kan., and Mrs. Barbara Hoffman of Pittsburgh, Pa. Besides the widow of the home and the two children, Judge Bleish is survived by five grandchildren and by one sister, Mrs. Paul Eastman of Pattonsburg. There are other relatives and many friends. Judge Bleish was a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Donald Holden Post of the American Legion at Albany. Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Brooks-Cochell Funeral Home in Albany. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Brentwood Bryant, pastor of the Presbyterian church in Albany. The body will lie in state until the time of the funeral. Interment will be in the Grandview cemetery at Albany.
