Mrs. Priscilla Blincoe, a resident of Stanberry for more than 53 years, and long identified with the business live of this city, died at her home here early Monday morning. She had been in ill health for some time and seriously ill for more than a month. In the death of Mrs. Blincoe, Stanberry lost one of the few remaining pioneer business citizens of the city. She had her late husband, W. E. Blincoe, opened a drug store here in 1899, and they continued its operation until his death in 1926. After his death she continued the active management of the business until her health failed and she sold the store to J. T. Norment and Mrs. Norment and Miss Bonnie DePriest in December, 1945. Thus for 46 years she was a distinct part of the business life of Stanberry. She was a charter member and the first president of the Business and Professional Women's club in Stanberry. She had been a member of the Hunter chapter of the Order of Eastern Star here for 44 years. Mrs. Blincoe, who died Monday at the age of 83, was the daughter of Alexander and Mena Meyer Haas and was born in Bowling Green, Ind. She was married to Mr. Blincoe in 1895. Prior to coming to Stanberry 1899, they had been in business in Marceline, MO., and in Canon City, Colo. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Edna Halstead, of Los Angeles, Cal., and several nephews and nieces. Funeral Services were held for her Tuesday afternoon at the Phillips mortuary here with the Dr. Myron Meyer, rabbi at Adath temple in St. Joseph, officiating. Burial was in the High Ridge cemetery here.
