All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Stanberry Headlight, Thursday, April 27, 1950: Monday Rites for Mrs. Boner: Mrs. Sallie Boner, a local resident for many years, died on Saturday after short illness. Mrs. Sallie Boner, a resident of Stanberry and vicinity through much of her life, died at about 11:30 o'clock Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles A. Reece, after a prolonged illness. Her condition had been critical for the past three weeks. Funeral services were held for her a 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Stanberry Christian church in Stanberry, conducted by the Rev. Charles R. Hagee. Interment was in the High Ridge cemetery. She was 78 years old and had been a resident of Stanberry and this vicinity for nearly 47 years. She was born the daughter of Jacob and Martha Montgomery, near Gower, MO., on Feb. 19, 1879. When she was about seven years old, the family moved to a farm in the McClanahan school district, located northwest of Alnathus, where her early life was spent. She was married on May 7, 1903, to George W. Boner, and they moved at once to a farm three miles west of Stanberry, where they made their home until they came to Stanberry eight years later. Lived with her daughter: In her early life she united with the Christian church at Alanthus and remained a member of that church throughout her life. Surviving her are three daughters, who are; Mrs. Reece, at whose home she died; Mrs. Fay Anderson, of Guilford; and Mrs. Vada Smith, of Butler, MO.; one sister, Mrs. Hariett Buckles, of Sterling, Colo.; and five grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
