Brashears, 86, St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2005, at a St. Joseph health-care center. Mr. Brashears, a farmer and carpenter, was born in Bertrand, MO., on Oct. 12, 1918. He had resided in Stanberry, MO., for 50 years and St. Joseph for several years. He was a member of the Hillcrest Bible Church. Mr. Brashears was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; parents, Henry and Rosalie Brashears; son, Ronald Brashears, killed in the Vietnam War; six brothers; and six sisters. Surviving: sons, Lowell Brashears, and wife, Alice; Robert Brashears, and wife Sue; and Tony Brashears, and wife, Karolyn, all of Cameron, MO.; daughter, Sue Fannon, and husband, Max, St. Joseph; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great- grandchildren. The service will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 7, at Rupp Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Burial will be in High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 6 at the funeral home.
