Rites at Stanberry for Mrs. Willis Chapman, 81:

The funeral of Mrs. Willis Chapman, 81, who died Saturday morning at her home 
in Union Star, was held Monday at the Christian church in Stanberry, 
conducted by the Rev. Charles E. Chandler, and burial was in High Ridge 
cemetery at Stanberry.

Mrs. Chapman's maiden name was Cora Ann Houston.  She was born Feb. 28, 1881, 
on a farm near Union Star, a daughter of John W. and Laura Ophelia Saunders 
Houston.  She and George Willis Chapman were married Oct. 4, 1899.  To them 
was born one daughter, who survives.

Residents of the Stanberry area many years, the Chapmans moved to Union Star 
in August 1961.  She was a member of the Stanberry Christian church.

Surviving are her husband, of the home; the daughter, Mrs. Wilma Miller of 
Union Star; two granddaughters, Mrs. Doris Guzley of Kansas City and Mrs. 
Dorothy Simerly of Union Star, and five great-grandchildren.
