The family later lived near Island City. He was married to Miss Anna O'Neale, who died Jan. 4, 1911. During much of his earlier life he farmed in the section southwest of Stanberry. Surviving him is one son, Verlin Clemmons, Stanberry; two sisters, Mrs. A. P. Laughlin, Stanberry, and Mrs. Willie Russell, King City. Also surviving are four grandchildren and other relatives. The body was brought to the Phillips mortuary last Thursday afternoon and funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Island City Christian church, conducted by the Rev. Chas. R. Hagee.
