News-Press; Saturday, January 28, 2006: Ruth E. Cogdill 1913-2006; STANBERRY, Mo. — Ruth Ellen Cogdill, 92, of Stanberry, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, at the Albany, Mo., hospital. Ruth Ellen was born on Nov. 27, 1913, in Stanberry to Elmer and Irene (Perrett) Shisler. On Dec. 24, 1936, she married Clarence Earl Cogdill. He preceded her in death in 1988. She also was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carol Sue Ross; and grandson, David Cogdill. Ruth Ellen, a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, was a member and pianist of the Mount Zion Church of Stanberry. Survivors: two sons, Thomas M. Cogdill, Stanberry; and Clarence E. Cogdill Jr., Cameron, Mo.; sister, Lois M. Pickerel, Stanberry; 10 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. Funeral service: 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, at Roberson-Polley Chapel, Stanberry. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the chapel, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial: High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry.
