All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Tri-County News, Friday, January 16, 2004: Mildred Leona (Lockhart) Craven, 87, Albany, and formerly of Stanberry, died Jan. 12, 2004, at an Albany nursing home. Born July 28, 1916 in Wilcox; she was the daughter of Dillard Evans and Margaret Belle (Irby) Lockhart. She attended school in the Wilcox area and Washington high school in Maryville. She was a homemaker and a cook at the Seth Redmond Lunchroom and Grocery Store in Stanberry for over 20 years. Mrs. Craven was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stanberry. She moved to Albany in the fall of 1987. On April 6, 1935, she was united in marriage to Henderson A. Craven in Grant City. He preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Charlene Blevins and Ethel Netherton; three brothers, Verlin, Hubert and John Lockhart; two step-sons, William L. and Robert L. Craven and two step-great-grandsons. Survivors include two sisters-in-law; five step-granddaughters; 11 step- great-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Jan. 15 at the First Baptist Church, Stanberry, with interment in High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry. Memorial donations may be made to the Stanberry First Baptist Church; Hands of Hope Hospice; Beverly Health Care Activity Department or a charity of your choice. Arrangements were handled by Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany.
