All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Stanberry Headlight, Gentry County Missouri, Thursday, January 13, 1972, front page: Rites Held For Mrs. Julia David: Final services were held yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon in the Cochell Colonial Chapel here for Mrs. Julia David, 79, a native and long-time resident of this community, who was taken by death Monday at the Gentry County Memorial hospital in Albany. The rites were conducted by the Rev. Richard Thomas, pastor of the Christian church at New Hampton, and burial was in High Ridge cemetery here. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Merle Crane of New Hampton, Mrs. Della Miller of Missouri Valley, Ia., and Mrs. Velma Butt of St. Joseph; one sister, Mrs. Lena Cooper of Maryville; six grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren. Mrs. David, daughter of the late Peter and Mary K. Nielsen Sorenson, was born August 21, 1892, on a farm west of Stanberry. She and Claude L. David were united in marriage and spent most of their married life in this community. He preceded her in death November 20, 1970. Mrs. David has been in ill health for several years and had been living in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Crane, in New Hampton, it was learned. She had been a member of the First Christian church in Stanberry for many years.
