All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Tri-County News, Friday, April 16, 1999: Dorothy Anna (Wade) Eiberger Derks, 88, died April 7, 1999 at a health-care center in Stanberry. Mrs. Derks, a homemaker, also had taught at the Liggett School in Gentry County and had been a dental assistant in Stanberry. Born in Granger, MO., on Oct. 3, 1912, she had lived most of her life in the Stanberry area. She graduated from the Stanberry high school and earned a teaching degree from Northwest Mo. State University at Maryville. Mrs. Derks was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, where she was active in St. Ann's Altar Society and Sunshine Club, all of Stanberry. She married Leo Eiberger and they resided on a farm west of Stanberry. He died in 1958. Then se married Lucien Derks. He also preceded her in death. Mrs. Derks also was preceded in death by an infant son, Francis; her parents; a brother, Willis Wade and a sister, Lenora Griffin. Survivors include two sons, John Eiberger, Maryville and Kenneth Eiberger, Stanberry; a daughter, Lois Rooney, Prairie Village, KS.; a brother, Woodrow Wade, Wichita, KS.; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial was held on April 10 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Stanberry, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Stanberry.
