All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Tri-County News, Friday, April 16, 1999: Thelma (Napier) Evans, 93, Albany, died April 6, 1999, at Gentry County Memorial Hospital in Albany. For over 37 years Mrs. Evans was a teacher in rural schools, and at the Stanberry and Albany junior high schools. Born in Siloam Springs, on June 24, 1905, she graduated from the Albany high school and earned a bachelor of science degree in education from the Maryville State Teachers College, Maryville. Mrs. Evans was a member of the Albany United Methodist Church, of which she had held various offices and was active in United Methodist Women; Retired Teachers of Mo. and Gentry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Albany. On Feb. 21, 1926, she married Walter Evans. He preceded her in death in 1969. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary E. Dalrymple, and her parents, W. H. and Edna E. Napier. Surviving is a grandson, William Dalrymple, San Diego, CA. Graveside service and burial were held on April 9 at High Ridge Cemetery in Stanberry. Memorials may be sent to the United Methodist Church, Albany, in care of Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany.
