All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Albany Ledger, Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001: Athol Ayers Fitzsimmons, 88, died December 5, 2001, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Albany. The son of the late Franklin Max and Daisy (Dean) Fitzsimmons, he was born June 1, 1913, in Gentry County. He was a lifelong farmer, and had worked some winters at Missouri Methodist and Sisters hospitals, St. Joseph. In 1932 he married Juanita Wave Walker. She preceded him in death. In 1965 he married Rama Smith Kirschner. She survives of the home at Albany. Besides his parents and first wife he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Franklin and Hilbert Max; and one sister, Daisy Thelma Messner. Additional survivors: one son, Robert Max Fitzsimmons, Albany; one step- daughter, Delores Jean Muce, Searcy, AR.; six grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were December 10, 2001, under the direction of Roberson- Polley Chapel, Albany, with burial at High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry.
