Gentry Co., MO obituary Allie Mariah Chowning MRS. E.W. FULLER I am Lisa McKinney, Almariah Chowning Fuller's great-great- granddaughter. The newspaper is not identified in the copy of the clipping I have. Thank you for adding it to the Gentry Co., MO, USGenWeb archives. Here is the text: OBITUARY—MRS. E.W. FULLER Allie Mariah Chowning The subject of this sketch, Allie Mariah Chowning, was born Sept 11, 1833, in Cole County, Ill., and died at her home near Darlington, Dec. 8, 1897. Was married to Elijah W. Fuller, Aug. 27, 1852. Came to Missouri in 1856. To this union twelve children were born, ten of whom are still living to mourn the loss of a dear mother. She professed a hope in Christ and joined the Christian church 35 years ago, and lived a zealous Christian life until her death, and died in the faith of Christ. She leaves a husband and ten children and many friends to mourn their loss. Sister Fuller has lived many years in the neighborhood and at the home where she died, and was known by all old settlers as a kind neighbor and friend, a loving mother and wife. Funeral services were held at the house by the writer, Dec. 10, 1897., after which the remains were followed by a large number of friends and relatives to the Long Branch cemetery, where they were laid to rest until the trump shall sound and the sleeping dead shall arise. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in this sad hour of affliction. To the lonely companion and children we can but say: To earth and us she cannot return, But to Heaven and to her, you may go, When your pilgrimage has ended her below, Then may you not forget while here you sojourn, To seek for that blessed hope which by Christ is given, That though we part here we shall meet again in Heaven, Then think of heaven as not far away, Its crystal streams will refresh as life draws near its closing day. --Dear children, may the Saviour’s blood was you and prepare you to enter the land of eternal bliss there to meet that dear mother in a better world than this; there to be forever with Christ and the angels as the redeemed of God.
