She was born Sept. 30, 1902; the daughter of Lowery Allen and Annie (Boone) Wolford and lived within a seven mile radius of King City, her entire life. She was a graduate of King City high school and attended Maryville State Teachers College. She taught for six years at the one room Blue Country School, east of King City. In February of 1927, she married Vernon Harvey. They lived on a farm, east of King City, until retirement when they moved to town. Mrs. Harvey lived alone from the time of her husband's death in 1972 until 1993, when she suffered an accident. Since that time she had been a resident at King City Manor. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in King City. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her borhter, Earl Wolford and a half-sister, Florence Taylor. Survivors include two daughters, JoAnn VanMeter and husband, Edward, San Diego, CA. adn Sandra Richardson and husband, Bob, of Charlotte, NC.; six grandchildren, Gina and Mike Butcher; Craig and Mary Ann VanMeter and Vicky and Keith Bargroff; five great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Graveside services and burial were held on April 4 at King City cemetery, with Pastor Ken Jameson officiating. Romey Keith Davis was vocalist. Pallbearers included Mike Butcher, Chris Butcher, Teddy J. Stegman, Vincill Jacoby, Bobbie Speers and Eldon Francis.
