Hill, 91, Rea, died Aug. 31, 2000, at King City Manor. Mr. Hill was born Feb. 16, 1909, in Woodward County, OK. He had also lived in the state of Kansas before moving to Missouri. He was a graduate of Stanberry R-II high school. Mr. Hill had also attended Maryville State Teachers College and taught in rural schools in Nodaway and Andrew counties. Mr. Hill was a retired Postmaster from the United States Post Office in Rea, where he worked for 21 years. He was also a retired farmer. During World Warr II he served in the Navy. Mr. Hill was a member of the Rea Union Church; the Dick Munkres American Legion Post #287, Savannah and the Stanberry Masonic Lodge #109. Mr. Hill played the fiddle in the Farmers Band that entertained at Senior Citizens Centers and nursing homes. He had coached Little League baseball and was a former Boy Scout Troop Master. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents, Francis J. and Alice D. (Hulet) Hill; a sister, Ethel Wallace and a brother, Kermit Hill. On Oct. 6, 1956, he married the former Joan Kennedy in Auburn, NE. She survives at the home. Additional survivors include two sons, Francis Hill, Rea, and Kenneth Hill, Micanopy, FL.; a daughter, Lela Chacon, Marshall, MN. and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Sept. 4 at the Gibson Funeral Home in King City, conducted by Rev. Josprh Munshaw. Music was provided by Betty Jo Howitt organist; Rolando Chacon, violinist; Mary Hill and Amy Hill, soloists. Prllbearers were Randall Hill, Richard Wallace, Don Duncan, Kelley Hill, Charles Sherman and Rolando Chacon. Burial was in High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry.
