All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Tri-County News, Friday, June 28, 2002: Edna Vonciele (Tillie) Howard, 81, Stanberry, died June 22, 2002, at her son's home in Warrensburg. She was born April 9, 1921 in Stanberry the daughter of Dewey and Anna Lorene Hall. She attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo. and graduated from NW Missouri State Teacher's College with a degree in Social Science. She taught school in Grant City and did substitute teaching in Stanberry. On May 26, 1946, she married Lester Ray Howard. He preceded her in death in 1982. She was a member of the Stanberry First Christian Church. She was also a 50 year member of Chapter P of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Survivors include a son, Dr. John Howard, and his wife, Janette, of Warrensburg; a daughter, Barbara Wharton and husband, Bob, St. Joseph; brother, Eldon Eugene (Pud) Hall, Stanberry; three grandchildren, Cory Wharton, Carrie and Chris Howard and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held June 26 at the First Christian Church, Stanberry, with burial in High Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Johnson County Hospice Care in Warrensburg in care of Roberson-Polley Chapel, 5th & Alanthus, Stanberry, MO. 64489, who handled arrangements.
